When you are completing prompted fields, you can enter the details manually, or you can use additional features of the SampleManager web interface to select appropriate values.
Click on an option for more information:
Where the Browse
button is displayed beside a prompted field, clicking on it displays a tabbed Browse page, containing all the items in the selected category. For example, when you are prompted to select a template during sample login, you can use the Browse function to view a list of sample templates.
Any text that you enter in a prompted field before clicking on the Browse button is used to specify the start text for the browse; this means that the browse will start with the data that matches the text entered.
For example, type “BL” and click on the Browse button to start browsing from the first record starting with the letters “BL”, such as "BLANK". You can also use % and * as wildcards representing one or more characters. For example, browsing with *N* or %N% as the start text will display the rows “BLANK” and “NOINPUT” because they both contain “N”. To clear the start text and view all the rows again, click the “Restart From Top” option in the Actions menu. Click here for more information about the Actions menu.
Where the prompted field is a date field, clicking on the Calendar
button beside the field displays a pop-up calendar, from which you can select the required date.
