Adding a Sample to a Job
The Add Sample to Job option enables you to add a sample to an existing job via the web interface, using
a selected template.
To add a sample to a job:
- Select the Add Sample to Job option from the Panelbar, or from the content pane of the SampleManager web interface.
Note: Remember that the menu options will only appear in the content pane
if your SampleManager web interface has been configured to display them.
- You are prompted to select a sample template. Click
here for more information about
completing prompted fields. Enter the name of the sample template, or click on the Browse button
to display a list of sample templates from which you can make your selection.
The name of the sample
template is displayed in the content pane.
- The Next button is displayed below the progress bar. Click on this button to
continue.
You are prompted to select a job and to complete the details in the sample
template.
Note: If you fail to enter or select a valid job name, an error
message will be displayed.
- Select a job and complete the sample details. Mandatory fields, which must
be recorded for the sample, are indicated by a darker blue color band (if you
are using the default display settings for the web interface).
The progress bar now indicates that you are performing step 2 of 5.
- Click on the Next button to continue, or click on the Previous button to
return to the previous step.
The list of tests for the
sample is displayed. The list is based on the test schedule associated with the
sample.
- Enter the appropriate values for the tests.
Note: The Add Tests and Add Schedule buttons, below the list of
tests, can be used to add further tests and schedules to the sample, if
required.
The progress bar indicates that you are performing step 3 of 5.
- Click on
the Next button to continue, or click on the Previous button to return to the
previous step.
- You have now completed all the information that is required to add a new
sample to a job. The details are displayed with a message asking you to check
and confirm sample creation.
The progress bar indicates that you are performing step 4 of 5.
- If you are satisfied that the information you have entered is correct,
click on the Login button to login the sample.
The progress bar now indicates that you are performing the final stage of
sample login. The full details of the sample, together with the name of the
associated job, are displayed in the content pane.
- Click on the Finish button to complete the sample login process, or click
on the Previous button to create another new sample, based on the sample that
you have just logged in.
